I don't get some of the reviews I've read here. Maybe I was hungry after a long flight but the fish and chips here were outstanding.

Sea bass was battered well, extremely crunchy and crispy. Fish was fresh and moist. The chips were super crispy and fluffy and moist inside. The texture of the chips were a first to me. Almost like a thick mashed potato center with an extreme crunch outside.

The tartar sauce was the most amazing tartar sauce I've had in my life. Seriously... I wanted to spoon what was remaining and eat it straight up.

I've been to Golden Union, another great place but Fish wins hands down.

How can you leave London without having fish and chip? Well, I had some pretty bad ones the last time I was here. Crazy huh?

We were going to eat at Padella but the line was crazy. So once we are in the waiting list, we went off to explore Boroughs Market. It was just right next to it. My friend looked it up that the fish and chip is good. So we proceeded with no doubt. As soon as we ordered, a line formed. We realized this has been happening a lot during our stay. Lol We're bringing the restaurants luck. Jk!

My friend ordered the grill swordfish with chip. I really wanted the craft beer battered sea bass but I didn't mind it since I never tried it grilled. It was relatively longer to make compared to fried of course. So we waited a bit. It was actually pretty good and wasn't very fishy. Swordfish is known to be more firm so I probably still prefer other ones for fish and chip. Our fish was probably one third the size of the fried ones.

We just shared one since we were still in line for Padella. But let me tell you, even if you are not in line for another restaurant, I'd recommend to share with a friend because you can try other food at the Borough market!

How have I not reviewed this yet?
This was my first dining out experience in London, and it lived up to expectations.
My friend and I decided we were on a mission for food while in London, and what else are you going to get besides curry? FISH AND CHIPS of course.
My haddock was delicious and incredibly filling.  I particularly enjoyed the smooshy peas.  I wasn't sure what I was getting into with that, but I really enjoyed them.  And of course the chips were delightful.
We visited fish! early in the day, so it was basically when they first opened.  There was no one else in the restaurant when we arrived.  It was a nice personal experience in my opinion, and as people started to filter in, the ambiance was a little more comfortable.  Our conversation wasn't echoing through the empty restaurant.
Service was friendly and professional.  I would recommend this place for any tourist visiting the area.  I also think that if you're in the mood to sit it's a better option than the take away counter service the have on the other side of the building. All around, a nice experience. Made me happy fulfilling my list of "to-dos" in London.

There was a huge line outside this place and it said it was award winning so we decided to try it. They offer a few different types of fish and they're constantly frying them up so it seemed really fresh. We tried the Sea Bream and added the tartar sauce on the side. For some reason our fish and chips wasn't very crispy compared to the pile I saw them making in the window but flavour wise it was good. Very moist! Chips went very well with the tartar sauce which seemed to have a good amount of pickles in it. They have malt vinegar on a table outside for you to use.

Tried the fish and chips.  Completely unsatisfied.  Soggy fish and fries and very bland.  Garbage slop accurately describes this.  Tourist trap, so avoid. There are much better options than this.
